The 10th EXPOTROF – THE GREEK FINE FOOD EXHIBITION is completed

The 10th anniversary event, featuring over 1000 B2B meetings, concluded on Monday, February 5th.

The inaugural food and beverage exhibition of the year, celebrating a decade of Greek culinary excellence, took place from Saturday, February 3rd to Monday, February 5th, at MEC PAIANIA.

Within the span of three days, the 10th EXPOTROF – The Greek Fine Food Exhibition successfully brought together buyers from all five continents, showcasing more than 2000 premium products renowned for their quality, innovation, and packaging. The event welcomed over 10,000 visitors and garnered positive feedback from both attendees and exhibitors.

The opening ceremony, held on the first day of the exhibition, was graced by notable figures including Mr. Ioannis Vroutsis, Deputy Minister of Sports, Mr. Stavros Keletsi, Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, and Mrs. Angelaki Dimitra, Vice-Regional Director of Rural Development and Food of the Region of Attica, among others.

Fostering trade agreements, the 10th EXPOTROF – The Greek Fine Food Exhibition 2024 saw the participation of more than 300 companies and professionals from across Greece, representing the primary production and marketing sectors of food and beverages. Additionally, 50 representatives from Greek and international food companies were in attendance. The event garnered significant interest from over 10,000 professionals from the catering, wholesale, and hotel industries.

As part of the 10th EXPOTROF, more than 1000 B2B appointments were facilitated in the dedicated Buyers Square area, connecting entrepreneurs from Singapore, Canada, France, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, and various Greek companies and chains such as Greek Hypermarkets Sklavenitis, Market In, The Mart, ANEDIK SA – SUPER MARKET CRITICO, as well as distribution channels and export companies such as AK INTERNATIONAL, P&P PROKOPIOU TRADING LTD, GREEK FOODTALES, SAS CHORIO – KALIOS, allesOlive Feinkosthandel e.K., WAL MART LTD, and many others.

Running parallel to the main exhibition, the “We Cook Greece” stage hosted 20 gastronomic events showcasing the culinary delights of regions including Central Macedonia, Attica, Western Macedonia, South Greece, the Aegean, Crete, Sterea Ellada, Serres Chamber, and more. Esteemed chefs such as Alexandros Koskinas, Michalis Marthas, Konstantinos Karakatsanis, Nikos Politakos, Michalis Zacharis, Yannis Giannitsas, Kyriaki Fotopoulou, Nadia Makriyannis, Phaedra Mavroidis Swana, Lena Karelou, Charis Zefgoulis, and Panos Zarentis presented their unique signature dishes and cooking techniques.

Additionally, the Food Expert Stories section featured workshops on contemporary topics including sustainability in the supply chain, crisis management preparedness in business, modern marketing practices, and food certifications. A panel discussion was also held with the participation of leading professionals from the fields of catering, management, marketing, and business.

Finally, on Sunday, February 4th, honorary plaques were awarded to exhibitors who have supported the exhibition throughout its ten years of operation. The Region of Central Macedonia was honored this year, with the Vice-Regional Head of Extroversion, Bane Prelevic, accepting the plaque. The Athens Fine Food Awards (AFFA) 2024 quality and taste awards were also presented.
